The Annual Town Pump Charitable Foundation Food Bank Fundraiser was started in 2002 to achieve two goals. The first, to provide funds for food banks to help our neighbors have nutritious food and meals for their families and the second, to raise awareness of hunger in Montana. Town Pump understands a food bank does not keep its doors open through food donations alone.  This is why we have committed to bringing much needed cash funds to assist with building rent, utilities, purchase of bulk food items and perishables such as meat, produce, dairy and bread.

All of the funds raised, including the matching funds, were used locally. In 2008, the total raised for food banks across Montana was over $1.45 million including the Town Pump Charitable Foundation match of $300,000. In seven years, more than $4.85 million has been given to the food banks of Montana, including $1.15 million of matching funds committed by Town Pump. Thank you Montana for your generosity during Town Pump’s 2008 campaign!
“This is just a wonderful program,” said Sheryle Shandy of the Billings Food Bank. She added that higher prices for such necessities as groceries and gas have been a “double whammy” for her organization.

“It’s driving more people to us, and also driving up the cost for us to fill the need. We appreciate the increase support from our friends.”
